Thanks to the genius of the legendary Kurt Klaus, IWC jumped into the complications arms race with the Da Vinci Perpetual Calendar in 1985. From there, it took off, going from perpetual calendar only to perpetual calendar with split chronograph, then adding a minute repeater and finally a tourbillon in short order. So excuse link me if I say, if IWC is talking link perpetual link calendars, it deserves some respect, dammit.
