Actually the time machine was invented in the late 1800's
It is what we call today a 'video camera'..
The Frenchman Louis Lumiere is often credited as inventing the first motion picture camera in 1895.
Movies and even still photographs capture time and store it for future viewing. Of course this time machine can only record the past and not the future, it is nonetheless a machine that captures time..
