    My seed potatoes got overgown. Should I trim them or plant them long?

    Seed potatoes with sprouts may lose their sprouts after planting and develop new sprouts. Sprouting seed potato before planting is not required or recommended as it offers no advantage to growing and may inhibit growth, particularly if sprouts are overgrown.

    So since they can re-sprout after planting, I would say timing them first might be more beneficial.
