There are two main levels of programs. One is the desktop and the other is accessible as files. Desktop programs are loaded or partially loaded when you power-up. This occupies memory space in ram (random access memory) and if there are a lot of desktop programs your system can be slower significantly. This is where subdirectories come in. Once again keep the subdirectory brief and pointing to files stored elsewhere. The operating system will need something on the desktop. I advise only brief files needed to get the system running only. No games,no writing or imaging programs, just basic operating files. All else goes into buried subdirectories. When you establish multiple dependencies you can be requiring lots more memory and your system…slows…to…….a…….c…r…..a……w……l.
