Is your TV a new one that receives digital signals? If not, you need a digital converter first. Then, it's where you park to receive your signals. Many remote places have satellite or cable for the only reception. Most roof antennae will catch a good signal if it's available. Also, Directv has a mobile system they sell to RVers. My nephew had one. You set it up anywhere you go and turn it until you get a good signal from their satellite.

Where are you located? You can get a good one from Radio Shack for about $45. And, unless you're in another country, you do need a digital converter for the USA. Don't know about Canada. But all our signals are digital and channels come with a - after the number. Example: 3-1, 3-2, 13-1 etc. Good luck.

I was looking at the tv antennas for sale on the internet, that cost around $90? I realise, that if I'm in remote places that I wouldn't be able to pick up a signal, but if I'm close to a town, I'm wondering if one of those antennas would work for me
either an inside one or an outside one? My tv is just a regular 19" I really don't need digital! Thanks again scotty.
