    I recieved a settlement check from my insurance company but I made a loan modification on my mortgage will they keep my check when I send it to be signed

    If it was for repairs made to your house, no. The contractors need to be paid from it. IF it is for something else, and you signed the loan agreement as a condition of the insurance payment for a forbearance, then they probably will.
