how can you explain what "mod" is x=c(mod3) and x=3k+1, y=d(mod3) and y=3k+1. how do I prove x+y=c+d?

    How can I prove the x+y=c+d if x=3k+c and y=3k+c where x+y=c+d?

Your question is: How can I prove the x+y=c+d if x=3k+c and y=3k+c where x+y=c+d?

My educated guess: Since x=3k+1 and y=3k+1, x must equal y
    Therefore if x=c(mod3)and y=d(mod3), c must equal d because x equals y

(sigh) Now, I need another glass of wine.

    i cant.....................can you
You sly one, you. That's the encryption over the entrance to Tutts tomb. Gotcha. It means don't go in there, plague.
