Some children should never be left alone, however I think the legal age is 12-13 in most states.

I looked this up for my home state of California,my neighbors across the street would leave their 11 year old and 7 yr.old together alone frequently, and they didn't have a actual age listed, they just mentioned something about the maturity of the child.I think it's more a family decision kinda thing.There was no set in stone age requirement.
