      my best advice is to deal with the bank directly.. a collection agency will affect your credit.. most banks are willing to negotiate

        My son recently attempted to make monthly payments to pay down his debt. They "demanded" $250.00 minimum per month. He told them to take him to court, they did, it went to arbitration, he pays a court ordered $25.00 per month, probably for 25 life times.

          Pay it.

          If that is a problem the faster you tell the credit card provider the better. They would rather have their money than you bankrupt and get nothing, so they may well accept small amounts over a long period.
