    What diseases does Ninebark get?

Our Pacific (I think) Ninebark has beautiful new golden leaves, but many in the new growth are turning brown and getting crisp. If it's something that's going to spread, I don't want it to damage the surrounding bushes as well. Other than cutting it out (which will leave a gaping hole), what are my options?

Two things possible, powdery mildew which would show as white spots on the leaves or aphids. For aphids it is suggested that you spray with mouthwash when the sun isn't shining on it which would burn the leaves. Powdery mildew can be cured with fungicide from the nursery or WalMart etc., check the label.
