    if a US gallon of gas costs $4 how much is that in Euros/ litre?

    A US gallon is 3.78 litres and 1 USD = 0.70€
    this is not a homework question, I am just bad at maths.

      2.8 euros = 3.9682 US dollars

        OK, so ?2.8 buys 3.78 litres, therefore 1 litre costs ? 1.35 in the US.
        That is about the same as here in Europe. Surprised, I thought it was much cheaper in the US.
