Story of little boy taken by black panther in Kentucky in the 1800's
He went to get water from springs and the panther attacked and took him away. A year later his bones were found on a rocky ledge. A little later the father, after constantly searching for him and the panther, was himself attacked by the black panther in his cabin at night. He, through the help of his wife, was able to fight him off and eventually kill him in their cabin. He measured 9' from the tip of the nose to the tip of his tail. The story was told in a family history book that I no longer have.
