      Not until you tell us what brand of scanner you are using, and what you are trying to scan.

        Make sure the scanner glass is clean. Try scanning on a higher resolution, or lower resolution, switch from photo to mixed graphics or whatever to see if that helps. You can also try using a photo software to clean or sharpen up images too once the scan is completed.

          Thanks for answering. I have a Lexmark X7170 scanner and I am trying to scan a birthday card.
