    on a basic inexpensive home smoke alarm,how do you get the battery out to change it?

    show me pictures of acouple of alarms ,so i can see how they come apart.

    We do not have the ability to post pictures here. Find the name of your smoke alarm, it should be on the unit somewhere. Type the "name and how to change battery" into your search bar and click send. It should give you a page that will show you how to change the battery.

    None of them show the battery compartment. This question is also 7 months old. I would hope tara has figured it out by now, lol
    Throw the "cheap" one away and buy a photoelectric smoke alarm. Your life and others depends on the ability to be awoken when a smouldering fire starts, not when it is blazing and the house is full of smoke.
    thier should be a small latch to open it and remove battery and replaceit
