It all depends on the lineage of the dog (i.e. champions in the family etc.) Shelties can cost $400 and go upwards from there. You should check out breeders and be very careful when choosing a puppy. Do not buy one from a pet store - they are from puppy mills many times and the dogs are not always healthy.
