    It is a medical terminology short cut when diagnosing a patient.
    Rule Out Gout. This usually indicates lab work will be done to see if you have Gout.

    It means rule out Gout.
    Like if a doctor writes orders for you to get a blood test for gout, or whatever, he has to put down a reason on the Rx pad, so he writes '' Rule out _________'' what ever he thinks you may have
