    A friend said Caisson flags, another Garrison flags. Is there a term we should be aware of?

        A Garrison Flag

        These are large U.S. flags that are flown at forts.

        During the war of 1812, garrison flags were 20 feet by 40 feet. The Star-Spangled Banner measured 30 feet by 42 feet.
