Can I Shut off the Car alarm in my 2006 pontiac pursuit?

Our remote buttons are broke and it cost around $100. to buy new ones why can't we manually shut off the alarm so we can lock the car manually and open it without the alarm going off?

That's too bad that both have failed. Go to a car alarm store, one who installs also (they'll have better selection) and see if there's a generic remote that's not so expensive.

    Or try here http://replacementcaralarmremote.us/

they offer generics for low prices with do-it-yourself programming.
Are you sure the remote buttons are broken and not that the batteries are dead? I'm assuming when you say buttons, you're talking about both remotes. Cars usually come with 2 remotes.
Check with a Pontiac dealer. You'll have to prove you own the car in order for them to research the alarm system in the car and how to disable it manually.
    ok
The batteries are not the problem both remotes have gradually stopped working circut-wise I've had them checked!
    thx
