you need to have a charger first of all, if its a wet cell top it off to the full mark. be SURE you match up the positive to the positive sides (useually red )the slower the charge the better for the battery..ie.6 volt low 6 volt fast or 12 volt slow ...most chargers will give you that option! 24 hours charging time should be suficientfor most batteries
