To clear your email inbox from all emails, you need to select all the emails and press the DELETE button.
In Gmail: above the list of emails there's a command bar with buttons like 'delete' and 'archive'. Next to them there's a small check box. When you click it, it also highlights all the emails in the page. Press the 'delete' button to permanently remove all record of these emails.
