who is responsible for arranging funeral
my son passed away, he was not married but had a partner, her family is very manipulative and her mother in particular is attempting to make funeral arrangements without consulting myself my wife or my sons siblings, surely this cannot be right, am i not responsble for arranging the funeral ? My son had no estate whats so ever.

Did your son have a will at all? Does the girlfriend have anything in writing from him that clearly states she was to take care of all arrangements should he die? How long did they live together? Does your state recognize common law marriages? Who is paying for the burial? There's a lot of questions before an actual answer can be given.
