      moth balls in the near vicinity will also help. build a bat house and hang near by, bats consume 100 times the insects that blue martins do and are there year round.

          First, catch the bat or bats then release them elswhere. Block all entry points so that they can't come back. If they are roosting in your vents then put some bird wire in front of your them. Of course it depends on the size of the bats. If they are micro-bats, you could put mosquito mesh instead of bird wire.

          I'm a bat carer so I know these things, but I live in Australia and do not know much about American bats.

            Put fly screen wire over them just nail it across the vents and it will still let the air in

              I would suggest doing what a priest did in a joke I heard.
              He had a bat problem in the bell tower of his church, and they were harrassing the paritioners, so he blessed them, gave them first holy communion and baptised them and they never returned!
              LOL:)
