Better go to the judge, make an appointment to talk over the situation. If paying is a hardship and you have responsibilities for others the court will likely work with you. Dodging the law is not a good idea ever. Given a choice the courts generally do not send someone to jail for minor tickets and jail because it cost to keep folks in jail.
