no it doesn't.. Unless the one with the cancer opts for hormone therapy. This procedure is the same as castration but without surgery or losing the testes. There are two other proceedures before this one:
radical prostatectomy (surgery removing the prostate)
Radiation treatment-- Finalizing the elimination of microcells still in the prostate bed.
Most urologist recommend radical prostatectomy first, radiation 2nd then hormone treatment..
