    Is Social Security payments taxable

    SS payments are taxable in the US. Federal tax but probably not state. If you have no other income, you may be below the taxable amount though.

    Depends if you are getting 'other income' - and from what sources.....generally, no.....but worth checking with a 'friendly accountant' - or an advice bureau, so you can make 100% sure....before anyone contacts you ! It is not a 'black and white' issue.
