    There is no way of telling you how much electricity a refrigerator uses: it depends on the size, the rating, the setting and how careful you are.

    Whatever it costs it is cheaper than wasting food, and safer.

    It depends on the rating how economical it is. If you don't know the rating, the newer it is the more energy-efficient it will be.

    If you are buying secondhand check the door seals are undamaged.

    Watch for ice build-up, unless it is self-defrosting, and defrost it every few weeks.

    If anything, such as milk, part-freezes, turn up the thermostst.

    Never leave the door open while you pour a drink or cut a piece of cheese. Cold-loss is fast.
