    She probably should be, but their heirarchy is different from let's say a democracy, for instance...don't understand it myself!

    I think the day will come when the eldest child of the monarch is the heir regardless of sex and that would be fair.

    Princess Anne was the second child and therefore her elder brother, Charles, is the heir, followed by Prince William and then Prince Harry.

    Prince Harry will step back if Kate has a child, girl or boy.

    The Monarchy must have a direct line or there would be chaos... Too many heirs so old we would have a different king or queen every few years.

    Our present queen is a working monarch who sees state papers daily and talks with the current prime minister weekly: a steadying influence in an unstable world.

    The pageantry is just the trappings, which the whole world seems to enjoy.
