The Clone Stamp tool in Photoshop is the same as a brush. It is used to copy pixels (or "paint" pixels) from one area of the picture to another. While holding down the Alt key, click on an area in the photo you'd like to copy. The size of the copy is the size of the brush. Now go to where you'd like to copy the pixels to. As you begin to "paint", you'll see the pixels correspond directly to where you got your sample from. Meaning, if you move your mouse down, the pixels you paint will be from the original location downwards.
