Your Mac and iPad run the same operating system. If both the mac computer and the ipad have the spreadsheet application installed, all you need to do is save the spreadsheet on your Mac, and copy the file to your ipad the same as you would transfer any file from your computer to your ipad. You can sync your iPad with your computer through iTunes (see here) To transfer other/all file formats use this free program.
