    The vertebras have discs separating them from each other and preventing friction. A displaced or slipped disc means that a disc moved from its place between the vertebras. See this picture.
    Very painful too if it is compressing a nerve.. I went through that hell a couple times. Doctor said my spine looked like a twisted dishtowel. It can be fixed though..

    disc is a rubber like structure between two vertebral bones.  when it gets pressed and gets displaced back into spinal canal, it is called slip disc ie, displaced disc.


    prevention and treatment is by avoiding bending and lifting weights and consult a doctor.
