I would consult a dealership. My truck a Toyota Tacoma I asked about how to check the transmission fluid and the way they make it now is that it is a special fluid and a sealed container that is supposed to last the lifetime. They told me if I ever saw a transmission fluid leak which would not be likely but if I did need to get it towed to dealership as that whole part would have to be replaced. It is sealed and permanent do not know if Volvo is the same? So my best suggestion is to consult with someone in the service dept of a Volvo dealership?
