How wonderful is that, but at this point you will be waiting all summer for their return to winter quarters again!
LOL, I never get hummers. I don't have the flowers to attract them. I do get owls though. My picture is of the male who moved into the owl box in my backyard :)

Yes, the are really fun to watch. I used to have a pair that visited my pepper tree in CA, then in TX we had a feeder, only didn't see them during the winter. I wound up buying the mixture for their feeder because I read that the sugar and water was bad for them. It's kind of like junk food for humming birds, the mixture you can buy at the store is better for them.
The funny thing is they seem to like the sugar and water better than the mixture from the store, they still visit, just not as often. I guess they're just like people, we like our junk food and snacks sometimes, over the healthier stuff...

leeroy, you are wasting your money. The stuff you buy is NOT better for them. They need 4 Cups of water to 1 Cup of sugar and then add a few drops of red food dye if you want.
My Mom was a bird expert and that's all she ever used from Day 1 on until she died - I do the same. I have been feeding 5-6 pair of birds each year with this stuff and they love it.

Thanks for the info, but I live in S.FL now and haven't seen one since I was a young kid. I think they decided there's to much traffic down here for them?
