if you are having problems getting water from a well it may be your check valve this is usually a brass pc that holds the water in the well pipe when pump is not running nonetheless diconnect power to avoid accidental start on the top of the well pump volute there should be a small square-headed pipe plug this is the primer port carefully pour water in this till it is full rethread plug using teflon pipe tape reenergize motor start pump
