CAN I SUE AN INSURANCE COMPANY THAT REFUSED TO PAY FOR A SPECIALIZED HOSPITAL STAY AND NOW I AM A PARAPLEGIC BECAUSE OF THIS?

I had major back surgery and a spinal fusion in 2009. I should have been placed in a specialized hospital for rehabilitation in order for me to walk again. The insurance company refused to pay for this and I was placed in a sub accute place without and agressive type of therapy. I am now unable to dress myself, get out of bed by myself and I am a paraplegic because of this. The insurance company said I was not in need of any specialized nursing care or physical therapy. I live in Connecticut and want to know if this insurance company can be sued?
