If you remove one letter from your word you have rebuffing.
Eismee found the the root in "rebuff" and she is right about the meaning.
I could have said. "I apologise for rebuffing you. You asked a question and I added a comment that was inapplicable."

Sorry to cheat but how else can I catch you? I await Admin on karma but that is the least of my troubles. I was expecting a bad reaction, which I didn't get... or not yet, except for the one person I reported for racial abuse. I've reported him again for a vicious, obscene message. Do you get this too and can anything be done to stop him?
