I think you have the wrong spelling. Equivocal means: Open to more than one interpretation; ambiguous, ah here is that naughty word again, comparative more equivocal. An equivocal word can be pronounced in two different ways, meaning two different things. This is a concept that is the opposite of a homonym, or perhaps an opposite. Hope this helps.
