I have had Dish TV and Direct. My sweetheart has instructed me to say Dish TV is better. We have Dish TV and WildBlue which is their affiliated Internet SAT system. It works and we use it a lot. The digital recorder is nice and the HiDef type may allow internet video streaming recording. I had a TiVo unit for Internet recording but its dietary bandwidth use can consume all but a T10 line in very short order. I have 7.5 G of download capacity per month and thats about 3 HD Movies from Netflix. Figure that against continual streaming video from Dish or Direct and TiVo goes thud. It does have its plus side in its potential to record the net .....but it has software built in that begs to be hacked and boosted by someone who loves the net. But hackers beware TiVo. Dish TV + WildBlue or Directv + Hews Sat Internet. ..... How much money can we throw into the sky and keep it there?

the bigger the dish the bigger the bill...direct tv for me

Direct tv even though it requires two small antennas if you want both local and national channels.

Direct tv because you dont need a huge 10 foot wide dish or a dish at all. Direct tv is also newer and cheaper
