I'm running Vista here. Try logging in as a different user.
You can do that by clicking on the WINDOWS BALL in the lower left hand corner..... then click COMPUTER. On the top of the page on the right side click on OPEN CONTROL PANEL then click on USER ACCOUNTS. When inside user accounts click on MANAGE ANOTHER ACCOUNT.
Make another user name and start again. Vistas dual processor will run smoothly on that other page. The one that went blank on you may have picked up a disabling virus and screwed that users page up.
