    How do mermaids reproduce?

Mermaids only live in myths and legends, as there is no proof of actual mermaids. I would imagine, though, that they would have babies by conceiving them through sexual intercourse, if they were real.

In mermaids, reproduction is much like that of dolphins. The reproductive organs of both the male and female are akin to the dolphin and whale, and mermaid babies are born live (as opposed to hatched from eggs).
