The result is aesthetically very interesting, resulting in an unexpected take on two-tone, through the application of the extra-hard inner ceramic case that protects the movement and the precious metal bezel, lugs, and caseback.
The Pulsometer scale occupies a lot of space of course, as well as the tracks on the subdials and centre dial.This is also a limited edition, with 300 pieces being made in each of two dial colors (there's a soft black alternative to the eggshell you see here), and you can see each watch's serial number right on the dial. It's not the most subtle thing I've ever seen on a watch dial, but I actually don't mind the little bit of red text. It adds some punch to the otherwise subdued package. For me, the Navy Blue not only puts the Fifty-Eight firmly on my radar, but it has also managed to put the Black Bay way up on my want list – a list that previously only had room for the Pelagos Blue and the Heritage Chrono Blue.
