What really seems to bug enthusiasts a bit more than just a date window, is a date window with an link eccentric placement, and nothing seems to generate more ire that a 4:30 date window. Why this is the case, I don't know. The date window has to go link somewhere and while a 3:00 position is the most common, it's not necessarily the ideal place to link put a date window, depending on the movement and dial design.

Finally, for some inexplicable reason, the Series 1 is one of link the most link comfortable-wearing watches I can remember recently. Maybe it's the way the slightly longer lug length balances out the 38.5mm case. My only hope is that the Series 1 may eventually be made in a more affordable case material (like stainless steel or, in the case of the forthcoming Ghost, I'd guess we'd see link titanium), which could be the key to Fleming unlocking a wider audience (like myself).
