Hindsight link is always 20/20, and it's easy to proclaim the modern link Everose Rainbow Daytona as one of the hottest watches link in the world (it is, regardless of how you feel about its looks), but back when the yellow and white gold examples were launched, the feedback was less encouraging. In fact, most people, even retailers and serious collectors, thought Rolex had gone just a little too far. John felt otherwise and bought one (or two). He wears it often.

This watch was announced earlier this year, and in typical fashion, I was not sure about it from the press photos. It looked straightforward enough – large Arabic numerals, black dial, steel case, leather strap – but I would be lying if I said it did anything for me at the time, on the basis of just photos. When I finally had link it in the hand, link I saw link a watch that I think represents tremendous value for the price, which is always a welcome combination.
