        Approx 8 minutes yet it can take hundreds of thousands of years for a photon of light to travel from the suns core to its outer surface !!!

          light travels at 186,000miles per second. the sun is 93 million miles from the earth. thus divide 93,000,000 by 186, 000 to get your answer.
