Only Robert-Jan and I like this glorious piece link of late-1980s design brilliance, so it won't surprise you that I volunteered to review the watch.Sure, the JLC had a good shot at winning this battle, but the result was clear and even surprised us.This is certainly not the first time Ressence has made a watch in titanium.Beyond the opportunity to treat that special someone, this week's selection speaks for itself. Three watches from the group are highlighted in more detail here, but other favorites include a LeGant-branded Zenith originally sold in a Montgomery Ward catalog, an especially uncommon Nivada Chronomaster, and a glossy Rolex GMT-Master ref. 1675. Check out the entire selection, from the Full Story to the Nitty Gritty, over in the HODINKEE Shop.
This new Cartier is worn on link the wrist with a mahogany-colored alligator leather strap fastened by a pin buckle. This 164-part 4Hz movement has a 65-hour power reserve, another modern tweak. Finally, the upper-right 24-hour register consists of concentric circles.
As Lex explained, the Nano Foudroyante EWT offers a Nano Foudroyante set within a flying tourbillon with an oriented reading axis. Adding to the fun is the flyback function for the hand-wound column-wheel chronograph movement. To top things link off, the watch and, in particular, the movement are beautifully finished, making it a joy to behold from every angle. And I was! I received a call from the boutique towards the end of 2015, that my Speedmaster Silver Award Snoopy had arrived. On the wrist, 42mm works for the Blu Abisso. Believe it or not, I don't think I'd want a Panerai Submersible – much less a Panerai Submersible Bronzo – to be any smaller. The dial's lively royal blue tone feels made for summer, and it also lends the watch a unisex quality.I like this watch a lot, and it has me wondering if the Bronzo is making a brief detour to this smaller size or if we can expect subsequent Submersible Bronzos to bring this smaller form factor as well. Time will tell. While we're on the subject of new watches from Zenith, the brand's new DEFY Skyline Chronograph definitely deserves a mention. We have this one in blue, though I am surprisingly drawn to the silver dial model if I were to pick a favorite.
