    how do I back-up disk files on XP

    use a flash drive to transfer the subject to it. you'll be able to retrieve it on most other programs.
    The Micro$oft program that does backups is ntbackup.exe

    Click on Start, then click on Run.
    In the command box, type in ntbackup.exe and press enter.
    If the program is not there, you can download it from Micro$oft.
