It goes to show that there's nothing quite like a mechanical vintage chronograph movement! The titanium link Zenith Chronomaster Sport was one of my favorite releases of last year.Talking Watches, at its best, isn't just about holding up timepieces to the camera and talking about what you like about them. It's about how you see the world, your place in it, and expressing all points in between by way of the "why" of it all. And through this very special episode of Talking Watches, you'll learn a lot more about Ed Sheeran – the person – than you might have thought.
Overall, this is not a top-heavy watch; on the contrary, weight-wise, the watch head and bracelet are properly balanced. The case sat perfectly, but the lugs were a tad more prominent than I envisioned.Another sporty watch with a watery name from an august brand, this 2006 Vacheron Overseas is slightly bigger (42mm) than the 5065A. With an automatic movement and closed caseback you miss out on some of the action you get in the Aquanaut, and of course, the integrated stainless steel bracelet link wears, sits, and feels different than the composite strap. But for $18,000 you get respected high-horology in a less-dressy package for a fraction of the price. What makes this Aquaracer 200 Solargraph really stand out is its new sandblasted grade 2 Titanium case and bracelet, a choice TAG Heuer has said improves "quality and durability" as well as ergonomics, making it lighter and more comfortable to wear while better suited to resist the elements while exploring under the ocean or across some of Earth's harshest environments. The new Aquaracer Solar will be available starting in February 2023.
The Tudor Black Bay 58 link GMT was one of the most commercially interesting releases of this year’s Watches and Wonders. The estimate for the lot is CHF 300,000-500,000 – a very great deal of money indeed, but by the increasingly absurd standards of wristwatch collecting, something of a bargain, especially for a watch which it would surprise no one to see Breguet bidding on for its own museum as well. What is really nice is that the developers of the cases and the dials are in the same room and they can speak. They find that level of understanding. This is a huge advantage in terms of creativity because you can look beyond the single part. You can look at the whole watch. Nine times out of 10, the issues in selling a watch come from a bad development process. The fact that you have an integrated development process makes you anticipate these things in development.

The real solution to cut-off numerals bracelet president or markers is of course to have watches with a center seconds hand, rather than a seconds subdial. Prior to the development of center seconds hands for watches, makers would occasionally produce watches with very large seconds subdials for individuals for whom distinguishing automatik uhren geheimtipp bis 300 euro one second from another was important. These were sometimes called "doctor's watches," and a classic example is the original Rolex Prince from the 1920s (the link references 971 and 1343).
