It was his meeting with Calim Bouhadra that link proved decisive. That and the creation of the "Father & Son" project. A watch for the father. A watch for the son. Two timepieces, imagined in close concert with Ronaldinho, in a dialogue with each other. The original product page for this watch is still on-line at the official Omega website, click here. You could even think of people buying "investment watches" as a trend that has come and gone. The two-toned Rolex is as controversial today as this movie was uncontroversial when it opened in March 1990, around the time when when the Menendez Brothers were arrested for murdering their parents, and the very day the captain of the Exxon Valdez was fined $50,000 in restitution for the 1989 oil spill in Prince William Sound. (And we thought two-toned Rolexes were cheap back then!)
The black is link a nod to the Heuer Master Time instruments inside the Porsche 911, the beige details reference the wooden steering wheel, and the red, of course, comes from the car's exterior. The cream/champagne-dial model is a little more versatile, and its combination of colors fits the modern silhouette nicely. It matches the yellow Navygraf name on the top half of the dial, resulting in a watch that looks chic.
So we come link back to the modern Seiko Turtle, which came out in 2016. This watch riffs off a historically important dive watch for Seiko, the 6309-7040/9. This watch stayed in production from 1976 to 1988. It had a large 45mm cushion case with a 22mm lug spacing, a screw-down crown, and a 150m depth rating. You can read an excellent story on the 6309 by my colleague Mike Stockton here. The bright colorway, material choices, angular lines of the case and strap, and the open-worked dial showing the automatic caliber TH20-09 below and its spinning tourbillon at 6 o’clock are exuberant above all else. The "Kamen Rider" is another Seiko classic from the past in the same vein as the Rally Divers I mentioned earlier.

The early generations of 5513s use the caliber 1530, the same caliber that you'd find in the link non-chronometer 5512s. Because this movement wasn't intended for chronometer certification, it made link perfect sense for Rolex to roll it into link the 5513 as it distinguished the 5512 by fitting it with COSC-certified calibers.
