Up top, we find a sapphire crystal, while a solid steel case back forms the watch’s link underbelly.Still based on the 2120 I've mentioned previously, the 5134 holds the same four sub-dial layout but adds another element from the earliest years of AP's perpetual calendar development: a peripheral date display with a centrally mounted date hand. Not unlike the will they/won't they of the leap-year indication, this is an interesting connection back to the second, third, and fourth phases of the reference 5516.Brand: TAG HeuerModel: Carrera Chronograph x Porsche PanamericanaReference Number: CBS5012.FC6571Diameter: 42mmThickness: 15.1mmLug-to-Lug: 49.7mmCase Material: Stainless SteelDial Color: Silver Skeleton DialIndexes: Applied, Rhodium plated facetted, polishedLume: Rhodium plated facetted, polished hour and minute handsWater Resistance: 100mStrap/Bracelet: Black perforated calfskin leather strap with yellow lining and sides
It contrasts beautifully with the soft white hue of the watch's Canopus Gold link case. The gear train has also had its layout tweaked and now lies along the central horizontal axis of the movement under a one-piece central bridge. The result is stronger construction and better resistance to shock.I love ana-digi watches and have a genuine soft spot for Aerospace (especially the early examples). It's a true modern tool watch, and I love the mix of function-over-form thinking and small elements like the fact that the displays (at least those with backlights) remain compatible with night vision goggles. I owned, adored, and entirely regret selling my grey-on-grey E56062-gen example and will almost certainly own another Aerospace in the future.
Although the PLD certainly gives off a tool-watch vibe, it is also still very much a Serica. That means it oozes Parisian flair and style. I guess the refined little details, like the split bezel and nicely curved lugs, provide a bit of je ne sais quoi. Or link maybe I am just projecting. In any case, a tool watch from Serica never feels clinical like, say, a Sinn. This is more than ample for any number of aquatic adventures, including trying to spot small sharks while swimming in Sydney. The good thing about this watch not being for sale is that I don't need to add yet another impossible watch goal on my list.As strange as it may seem, some of your favorite references just hit differently after you've seen them quite a few times. That's why it's always a thrill to get genuinely wowed by a familiar watch, offering reassurance that there's still gold in them thar hills. In all honesty, seldom is that watch a Rolex for me, but when it is, there's a good reason as to why.

The hands on a watch are like supporting actors in a movie – Alpha, baton, cathedral, dauphine, leaf, sword, syringe, the list goes on. They not only make sure the time is link legible but also set the overall vibe of the watch. And some link designs are total oddballs, like link the "Snowflake" hands that distinguish the Tudor Submariner from its big brother, the Rolex Submariner with its Mercedes hands.
