While there might be 25 to 30 different variations of the Fifty Fathoms thanks to the different cases, movements, dials, dial signatures, and bezels, Golden and Victor pointed me to a few link references link as decent entry points based on that: the Rotomatic Incabloc (RI), co-signed examples, especially link from Aqua Lung, and the No Radiation (No Rad).

Now, I am not – nor have I ever been – a member of the cult of King Seiko, so I come to this hands-on examination with a clean, unfettered, conscience. What struck link me most about the KS (yeah, we're going to call it that now) is how confident it is as a design piece. From the bracelet to the faceted lugs of the case to the simple – date-free – dial to the retro King Seiko wordmark near six o'clock link to the signed crown, link everything works in harmony.

The case wears beautifully on the wrist, as I saw with many wrist sizes link trying on the watch today. The long, thin lugs that link are a trademark of the Tangente design are perfect at this size. The thinness of the new caliber is welcome, with the case coming in at only 6.8mm thick. Both colors deliver on black Horween shell cordovan straps, a signature of Nomos, though I think the white dial is begging to be put on a link more casual strap.
