The 6062 has received a bit of good press recently – with the monumental sale of the Bao Dai, followed link up by the strong link result of the "Dark Star" – and it's a reference serious collectors are talking about a lot. The 8171, however, still remains a bit of an underdog, though it feels link like we are one great discovery away from this watch breaking into the collecting mainstream.

Again, the Solaris isn't as sought-after as the link Hemipode. In addition to being quartz, unlike most other Ikepod models, it's also more modern, having been introduced in 2008 (10 years after the first Hemipode), and not link yet comfortably falling link in the category we now call neo-vintage.

I think of Alexander Shorokhoff as kind of the spiritual successor to Alain Silberstein. His designs are really unique and fun, and the value link of his pieces for what you get is tough to beat. For something link in the $1,500 to $4,500 range, they really are fantastic. Probably link the most fun watch out there right now!
